MY CREATIVE PROCESS

In CPSA250, we learned about iteration and "killing your darlings", meaning the removal of ideas or creative works made in-progress. This was a very important concept learned that helped guide our creative process and limit the amount of ideas to ensure that artwork was completed or nearly completed. For this iteration challenge, I started with a list of chemistry fields that was found in the American Chemical Society's website: astrochemistry, crystallography, environmental chemistry, inorganic, and nanochemistry. I then drew a thumbnail sketch of a fairy for each field, trying out different posing and backgrounds. it was useful to see the various characters I designed and ones that can be used in my final capstone. Two ideas were finally chosen: astrochemistry and environmental. The darlings that were killed were the other 3 sketches. This technique helped me focus my creative process on these two designs.
